Job Description

Purchase Asst. Manager/Deputy Manager Purchase- Manufacturing Industry

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities including vendor development, cost negotiations, purchase order processing, and inventory planning to ensure timely availability of materials and services as per production and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle procurement of raw materials, consumables, packaging materials, and engineering spares.
Identify and develop reliable vendors; evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
Raise purchase orders in ERP/software and ensure timely delivery.
Monitor and control inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess stock.
Co-ordinate with store, production, QA, and accounts departments to streamline the procurement cycle.
Evaluate and implement cost-saving opportunities through vendor optimization and alternate sourcing.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and audit requirements.
Keep abreast of market trends, material price movements, and risk factors.
Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to purchases and supplier transactions.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / etc.)
Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Knowledge of sourcing techniques and procurement best practices.
