As a Purchase Assistant in the manufacturing sector, your role will involve supporting procurement operations by sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotations, preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining vendor records. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will ensure a smooth and cost-effective procurement process for raw materials, machinery, and services. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in day-to-day procurement activities such as sourcing and vendor coordination. - Request and compare quotations, negotiate basic terms with vendors. - Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) following company policies. - Follow up with vendors for order confirmation, dispatch details, and delivery timelines. - Maintain and update records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information. - Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Purchase Manager. - Coordinate with stores, accounts, and production departments for seamless workflow. - Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining approved vendor lists. - Support the Purchase Manager in tendering and contract administration processes. - Handle documentation for inward material receipts and GRNs. - Track and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders and deliveries. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. - 3 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing setup. - Knowledge of basic procurement practices, vendor management, and supply chain operations. - Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle). - Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. - Ability to multitask and work under pressure. In this full-time role with a day shift schedule, you will play a vital part in the procurement process at our company.
