Purchase and Sourcing head

As the Purchase and Sourcing Head at our organization, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the purchase and store functions. Your responsibilities will include managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely procurement of quality raw materials, maintaining cost control, and leading a motivated team aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee end-to-end procurement processes including Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, GRN, QC, and Bin Transfer. - Ensure accuracy and system compliance in the procurement-to-issue cycle. - Maintain and optimize store layouts and material flow efficiency. - Monitor pending, late, and critical actions to drive timely resolutions. - Conduct R&D on materials and identify international sources when domestic supplies fall short. - Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for raw materials. - Manage ongoing vendor performance and relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and timely deliveries. - Negotiate terms to drive cost efficiencies while ensuring material integrity. - Develop cost awareness across raw materials and suggest alternatives to meet budget targets. - Propose process or system changes for cost-saving and performance improvement. - Contribute to departmental budgeting and monitor expenditures closely. - Lead, train, and support Purchase and Store executives and assistants. - Assist HR in hiring suitable team members. - Delegate effectively, build trust, and foster a high-performing team culture. - Ensure that suppliers meet technical and compliance requirements. - Develop strong collaboration with the Compliance and QC departments to address quality issues proactively. - Monitor and report on supplier performance and product quality. - Maintain seamless communication with various departments. - Ensure efficient planning and execution of procurement activities in line with production and shipment timelines. - Exhibit strong leadership qualities and promote a positive work environment. - Promote continuous improvement, team feedback, and performance evaluation. - Stay updated with material innovations and market trends. - Support the R&D and Sampling teams by contributing new sourcing ideas and feasible solutions. Qualifications Required: - Diploma / Graduate / Masters Degree in Fashion Designing, Textile & Clothing, or Management. - Minimum 10 years of experience in the Purchase Department within a garment/export house. - Strong computer literacy, including both basic and advanced software tools.
