Job Title: Operations Engineer

Role Purpose

To ensure smooth end-to-end operations of production support, materials management, and dispatch functions by managing stores, logistics, and coordination between production, procurement, and dispatch teams.

Purchase

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of sorting machines.
• Float RFQs, prepare comparative statements, and finalize purchase orders.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, credit terms, and contracts with vendors.
• Ensure on-time procurement of materials and consumables as per production plans.

Operations

• Coordinate with production, purchase, and quality teams to align daily operational plans.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure timely availability of components for production.
• Assist in capacity planning, production scheduling, and workflow optimization.
• Track and report on production KPIs (output, downtime, rejection rates).

Stores & Inventory

• Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, consumables, tools, and finished goods.
• Implement FIFO / LIFO / batch tracking and ensure proper material storage.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile with system stock.
• Maintain GRN, issue slips, and other store documentation in ERP / inventory system.

Logistics & Dispatch

• Plan and coordinate daily dispatches as per customer schedules and priorities.
• Liaise with transporters for timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Ensure proper packaging, documentation, and compliance with transport norms.
• Track shipments and resolve logistics issues proactively.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of engineering components, fabrication, machining, and electrical parts.
• Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Analytical mindset with cost-conscious approach.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and meet tight deadlines.
