Job Description

Job Purpose:

Proposal Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze RFPs, RFQs, and tender documents to understand project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Project Management, etc.) to gather necessary technical and commercial inputs.
  • Prepare detailed and high-quality technical and commercial proposals for

    turnkey projects

    in

    Instrumentation, Electrical systems, Automation (PLC, SCADA, DCS, VFDs, control panels, etc.)

    .
  • Develop project schedules, milestone charts, and payment terms based on project scope and timelines.
  • Prepare cost estimation sheets and BOQs, considering material, labor, engineering, and overheads.
  • Evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations and align them with project requirements and budget.
  • Handle contractual documents, including payment terms, BGs (Bank Guarantees), ABG (Advance Bank Guarantee), PBG (Performance Bank Guarantee), etc.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to ensure alignment of proposal strategy with customer needs.
  • Present proposals and technical solutions to internal stakeholders and customers when required.
  • Manage and maintain proposal documentation, version control, and submission timelines.
  • Support negotiations and clarification discussions during the pre-award stage.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and technology developments (including

    IIoT, Digitalization, and Smart Manufacturing

    where applicable).
  • Ensure proposals comply with relevant

    industry standards, safety regulations

    client specifications

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in

    Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics / Automation Engineering

    or related field.
  • 5+ years

    of experience in Proposal Engineering / Technical Sales / Estimation for

    Industrial Automation and Electrical Projects

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    Automation systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, VFDs, Control Panels)

    and

    Electrical systems

    .
  • Experience in

    IIoT, Digitalization, or Smart Manufacturing

    projects (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing

    cost estimates, BOQs, technical documents

    , and

    project schedules

    .
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience dealing with contracts, terms, and financial instruments like BGs, ABG, PBG, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management tools.
