The Mechanical Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing and executing the commissioning of mechanical systems on oil and gas projects (upstream, midstream, or downstream). This includes overseeing the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities to ensure systems are safe, functional, and meet design and performance specifications. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement mechanical commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules in alignment with the overall commissioning strategy. Supervise and coordinate all mechanical commissioning activities including pressure testing, equipment alignment, flushing, leak testing, and performance verification. Lead a team of commissioning engineers and technicians across mechanical systems (piping, rotating equipment, static equipment, HVAC, etc.). Review project documentation including P&IDs, mechanical datasheets, method statements, and commissioning test packs. Ensure all commissioning works are carried out in compliance with HSE standards, project specifications, and industry regulations (API, ASME, ISO). Coordinate closely with construction, QA/QC, operations, and vendors to align commissioning efforts. Manage interfaces with electrical and instrumentation teams for integrated commissioning. Track progress and generate daily, weekly, and final commissioning reports. Support client walkdowns, punch list clearance, and system handover. Participate in performance testing and support plant start-up. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Professional certifications or training in commissioning processes preferred. Experience: 10+ years of mechanical commissioning experience, with at least 5 in the oil and gas sector. Strong knowledge of process and utility systems (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers). Experience in large-scale EPC or EPCM projects is preferred. Familiarity with commissioning management tools such as ICAPS, WinPCS, or equivalent. Skills: Leadership and team management Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Understanding of project scheduling and documentation Additional Information: Position may involve rotation to remote project sites. Must be capable of working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Will require coordination with international stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
