The Process Commissioning Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing all process-related commissioning and start-up activities in oil and gas facilities. This role ensures that the plant s process systems are safely and efficiently brought from construction completion through commissioning and into full operational readiness, meeting all performance and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop and lead execution of the commissioning strategy for process systems, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up plans. Supervise and coordinate commissioning activities for key process units (e.g., gas treatment, separation, compression, distillation, crude processing, LNG trains, etc.). Ensure process systems are commissioned safely and in compliance with design intent, project specifications, and industry standards (API, ASME, ISO). Coordinate closely with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation teams for integrated system commissioning. Lead process system flushing, purging, leak testing, functional testing, and performance runs. Review and approve commissioning procedures, P&IDs, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and control narratives. Perform risk assessments, HAZOP follow-ups, and ensure process safety management principles are applied during commissioning. Interface with client representatives, vendors, and construction to ensure readiness for start-up. Lead the start-up of process units, support performance testing, and troubleshoot process issues during ramp-up. Monitor and report commissioning progress, KPIs, and system readiness status. Manage the punch list resolution and ensure systems meet handover criteria (RFSU - Ready for Start-Up). Participate in operator training and handover documentation preparation. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or related field). Certification in process safety or commissioning management (e.g., PMP, NEBOSH, API) is a plus. Experience: 10+ years of process commissioning experience in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or LNG sectors. Proven experience leading the commissioning of complex process systems in large EPC/EPCM projects. Deep understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, control philosophies, and process simulations. Skills: Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent troubleshooting and process optimization abilities. Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Familiarity with commissioning software and database systems (e.g., ICAPS, CMS). Deep knowledge of HSE and process safety protocols. Additional Information: Position may require travel or extended rotation to remote sites. High attention to safety, operational discipline, and regulatory compliance is essential. Must be available to lead emergency or unplanned commissioning-related interventions.
