Job Description: Project Coordinator – MEP Services

Location: New Delhi
Experience: 8–15 years
Qualification: B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/EEE or equivalent

1. Role Overview

The Project Coordinator – MEP Services will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary works including Civil, HVAC, ELV, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Protection. The role requires strong communication, planning, and cross-functional coordination abilities. Experience working with Japanese clients/consultants/contractors and familiarity with their working culture, documentation style, and quality expectations will be considered a significant advantage.

2. Key Responsibilities

Overall Project Coordination

  • Coordinate between consultants, MEP contractors, civil teams, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution of all services.
  • Follow up on drawings, material submittals, approvals, and work schedules.
  • Monitor project progress, highlight bottlenecks, and assist in resolving site issues quickly.
  • Organize and document coordination meetings, MOMs, and weekly reviews.

Civil & MEP Interface Responsibilities

  • Review civil layouts (slabs, beams, shafts, trenches) to ensure proper accommodation of MEP services.
  • Coordinate openings, sleeves, embedded items, and supports with civil contractors.
  • Ensure that HVAC, ELV, plumbing, and electrical services are fully coordinated with architectural and structural drawings.
  • Work closely with civil team on finishes, façade interfaces, and underground utility coordination.

HVAC Coordination Responsibilities

  • Follow up on HVAC drawings — ducting, chilled water lines, VRF routing, ventilation plans.
  • Coordinate shaft space, ceiling height, access panels, and equipment room layouts.
  • Support site checks for duct fabrication, insulation, equipment installation, and quality control.
  • Assist in testing & balancing coordination, AHU/FCU installation review, and ventilation compliance.

Electrical & Substation-Focused Responsibilities

  • Support the review and integration of 33kV/25kV/11kV substation designs, switchgear layouts, cabling plans, SCADA/BMS interfaces.
  • Coordinate approvals for HT/LT rooms, transformer bays, earthing layout, and power routing.
  • Work with utility providers, DISCOM, and railway/metro electrification teams for power supply readiness.
  • Assist in planning shutdowns, commissioning schedules, and energization activities.

Coordination with Japanese Stakeholders (Advantage)

  • Work in alignment with Japanese project management principles:
  • punctuality, documentation accuracy, safety-first approach, and 5S culture.
  • Prepare reports, trackers, and presentations in a structured and concise format expected in Japanese organizations.
  • Coordinate with Japanese consultants, owners, or contractors and ensure clarity in communication.4. Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, dashboards, and issue trackers.
  • Maintain drawing registers, submittal logs, and coordination documents.
  • Keep precise records of approvals, protocols, and meeting notes.
  • Follow Japanese-style document control, where accuracy and clarity are prioritized.

5. Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Working understanding of Civil, HVAC, ELV, Plumbing, and Electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Familiarity with coordination drawings and clash resolution (2D/3D).
  • Knowledge of relevant codes: NBC, IS standards, ASHRAE, IEC/ELV standards.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication — verbal, written, cross-cultural.
  • Strong coordination and follow-up ability.
  • Detail-oriented, disciplined, and organized work style.
  • Ability to work with multinational teams, especially Japanese.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project tracking tools, and documentation platforms.

6. Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in projects involving Japanese clients/consultants, EPC firms, or JV partnerships.
  • Hands-on exposure to HVAC and ELV systems implementation.
  • Background in Civil–MEP interface coordination.
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, metro/rail, or large infrastructure projects.

Shift - Morning shift

Pay - 12,00,000/- to 15,00,000/- per annum.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
