Project Automation Manager

Responsibilities:

Position for AGM and Sr Manager

• Lead green field & brownfield projects from concept to commissioning
• Oversee automation, electrical installations, pickling processes
• Manage blast furnace & steel plant maintenance schedules
• Role Overview:
• We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to lead and execute large-scale Greenfield and Brownfield projects in stainless steel manufacturing. The role requires strong expertise in project planning, execution, commissioning, and stabilization of advanced metallurgical facilities, with a focus on electrical, automation, and mechanical systems.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end execution of large-scale projects including Cold Rolling Mills (20-Hi), Annealing & Pickling Lines, Bright Annealing Lines, and auxiliary facilities (compressors, substations, roll grinders, etc.).
• Successfully operationalize new plants within stringent timelines and budgets, overcoming technical and supplier-related challenges.
• Drive commissioning of high-capacity lines such as HAPL+CAPL combo lines with ABB/Andritz systems, ensuring optimal throughput and speed.
• Manage multi-disciplinary Greenfield and Brownfield projects involving global suppliers and technology partners from Europe and Asia.
• Spearhead process stabilization initiatives across rolling, pickling, galvanizing, and casting lines to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Lead electrical and automation projects, including revamping of mills and integration of advanced automation platforms.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and consultants for seamless project execution and technical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements during project execution and plant operations.
• Mentor and develop cross-functional teams to build project execution capability and technical expertise.
• Candidate Profile:
• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical/Automation Engineering (Higher qualifications preferred).
• Experience: 8-15 years in steel/stainless steel industry, with a proven track record in project execution, commissioning, and maintenance of large metallurgical facilities.
• Technical Expertise:
• Rolling Mills (20-Hi, section mills, galvanizing, pickling lines)
• Automation platforms (ABB, Rockwell, Siemens)
• Greenfield & Brownfield project execution
• Auxiliary facilities (compressors, substations, roll grinders, converters, casters)
• Leadership Skills: Strong people management, cross-functional collaboration, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder management.
