Program Manager

As a Program Manager at Fish Welfare Initiative, your role will involve leading field operations, supervising Program Associates, and fostering strong relationships with farmers. Your impact will be crucial in achieving the objectives of the Alliance for Responsible Aquaculture (ARA) to enhance water quality and uphold healthy stocking densities. Here's how you can contribute: - **Management**: - Manage a team of 3+ Program Associates effectively. - Supervise the implementation of ARA protocols and experiments. - Ensure accurate and timely data entry by Program Associates. - Conduct audits and quality control to maintain protocol adherence. - **Farmer Engagement**: - Build and sustain relationships with ARA farmers. - Collect and update farm information such as stocking and harvest data regularly. - Spend over 50% of your time in the field interacting with ARA staff, farmers, and stakeholders. - **Scaling and Strategic Assistance**: - Provide field insights during strategic meetings with FWI leadership. - Lead the enrollment process of new farms into the ARA program. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and have experience in managing field programs. Here are the qualifications we seek: **Required Criteria**: - You must have the right to work in India. - Minimum 1 year of experience managing field programs in development, environmental protection, or animal advocacy sectors. - Proficiency in both oral and written Telugu and English. - Full-time presence in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, with extensive fieldwork in surrounding villages. - Ability to drive a motorbike or scooter on rural roads. **Ideal Criteria**: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Social Sciences, or related fields. - Previous experience in water quality analysis and management in aquaculture.
