Job Description

Drive the release planning and execution process for product releases Work with executives to plan product releases. Oversee and manage the activities of all the organizations that contribute to the product development process. Work with the Release Executives, Engineering Managers, QA Managers, and Product Marketing Managers to determine the resource requirements for each release. Define, track, and manage the master project plan and schedule. Define and implement a communication framework for each release that is appropriate for the complexity and scope of the release. Drive decision-making for each release Instrument release processes to provide quantitative data about release status. Develop algorithms and tools to analyze release data and spot trends. Determine progress against plan by analyzing all available information, including the opinions of senior representatives from QA, Engineering, and Product Marketing. When conflicts of opinion arise, arbitrate between parties to achieve consensus. Work with senior engineering and product marketing managers to identify major risk areas and ensure that recovery plans are in place. Drive continuous process improvement across the organization Certify that key deliverables such as requirements documents, engineering designs, project plans, code, test plans and product documentation meet the quality criteria for the release. Develop, document, review and improve release processes. Conduct random audits and compliance checks to ensure processes are followed and deliverables are properly developed. Drive measurable efficiency gains throughout the organization by applying a holistic approach to process improvement. Establish the appropriate channels for communicating processes and process change throughout the organization. Secondary Responsibilities Oracle Permitting & Licensing Software Early Customer Program Work with Strategy, Support, Implementation Consultants, Development and QA to provide additional reporting and communications in support of managing customer fixes, enhancement requests and implementation schedules. Oracle PeopleSoft Metrics Program Provide Executives a Quarterly Update on Customer-Oriented Metrics key to Continued Success of the PeopleSoft Suite of Products. Skill Requirements: At least 12+ years of overall experience with strong program management and leadership experience in driving complex product releases and programs Understanding & experience of Cloud/SaaS Delivery and Management Strong capability in stakeholder management, especially working with senior management and executive levels Ability to understand the business of customers, Oracle product and the business solution implemented for the customers. Foster collaborative problem solving and accountability by functionally and technically assessing the issues/challenges, and communicating effectively across teams to drive resolution and customer satisfaction Identify and plug process gaps, apply best practices and contribute to organizational knowledge Experience in delivering strategic enterprise programs Experience working in a product development organization, collaborating effectively with engineering, testing and support teams Knowledge/experience with one or more of the following Oracle products is desirable - E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Fusion ERP/SCM Experience with Agile software development methodologies and familiarity with other standard industry-wide software development practices. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to support business decisions Ability to work effectively in small and large groups, with a wide range of individuals and in a geographical distributed team Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, and ability to influence at all levels Risk Management: Proven ability in unearthing and managing risks in the program Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. Should have strong interpersonal, managerial and leadership skills Must be able to gracefully balance multiple competing priorities Ability to drive activity at all levels of the company and adapt to change Ability to work in collaboration and be a team player
