Job Description

Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer delivery dates and targets.
  • Coordinate with merchandising, planning, and other departments to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, trims, and accessories.
  • Conduct pre-production meetings to review style details, quality requirements, and potential production bottlenecks.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee all production activities on the factory floor, including cutting, sewing, washing, finishing, and packing.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all production lines are balanced and optimized for maximum efficiency and output.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any production-related issues or delays.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and enforce quality control standards throughout the production process to ensure products meet buyer specifications.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance (QA) team to monitor product standards and reduce defects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the finished products to ensure they meet quality requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Supervise, motivate, and manage a team of supervisors, operators, and other production staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs for staff development.
  • Ensure a safe, disciplined, and positive working environment on the production floor.

Cost & Resource Management

  • Monitor and control production costs, including labor, materials, and utilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase productivity, and reduce waste (e.g., through lean manufacturing principles).
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and present production reports to senior management, highlighting performance metrics, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including buyers, vendors, and suppliers.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager in a garment manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the entire high volume production process.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry-accepted quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO) and continuous improvement
  • methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

Required Qualification:- Diploma/B.E/B.Tech Mechanical/Textile/Plastics.
