Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating all activities between production, shipping, maintenance and interdepartmental coordination to support production.
• Drive and enforce a safety first culture throughout the facility.
• Assists in determining personnel needs for all operations.
• Participates in interviewing and selection of all personnel for plant operations.
• Supports all safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs.
• Records and tracks daily/weekly/monthly productivity to confirm production requirements and kanban levels.
• Coordinates employee vacations to meet customer demands.
• Ownership of operational availability KPI’s (key performance indicators). Monitors data and determines corrective actions.
• Monitors production scrap and works on countermeasures to eliminate scrap through kaizen activities.
• Plans and assist with monthly inventory cycle counting.
• Optimize the shop floor layout for all new and existing products and equipment.
• Works with other members of management for all product launches and new product development projects.
• Daily management of Time and Attendance utilizing current time keeping system.
• Drive quality and accountability mindset throughout all processes and work performed.
• Maintain cost budget for production, tools and labor costs.
• Report key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, monthly, annual basis using ERP/Office Tools available.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Lead the strategies and efforts toward achieving the operational benchmark KPIs throughout production.
• Get synergies through developing a team with high connectivity and flexibility.
• Continuous improvement in operational efficiency, reflected in a permanent cost reduction environment through best practices implementation.
• Evaluate performance through appraisal process, coach and develop team. Support and reinforce development plans for direct reports.
• Increase the level of technical knowledge of the core business process promoting the development of key talent.
• Lead and support team to achieve ISO9001:2015 certification for the production facility.
• Coordinate vendor deliveries and priorities to match production schedule requirements.

Work with the supply chain team to meet cost reduction targets.
