Roles & Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules as per demand and sales forecasts.
- Ensure timely production of packaged drinking water to meet market requirements.
- Allocate manpower and resources effectively across shifts to maximize efficiency.
2. Plant Operations & Process Monitoring
- Oversee end-to-end water treatment processes (filtration, RO, UV, ozonation, etc.).
- Monitor bottling line activities, including washing, filling, capping, labeling, and packing.
- Ensure optimal machine performance and take action to minimize downtime.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Maintain product quality standards as per BIS, FSSAI, and ISO requirements.
- Collaborate with the Quality team for water testing (physical, chemical, microbiological).
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
4. Inventory & Material Management
- Track usage of raw materials (preforms, caps, labels, cartons, chemicals, etc.).
- Maintain adequate stock of consumables and packaging materials.
- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement for uninterrupted material supply.
5. Team Management
- Supervise production staff, including operators, helpers, and contract labor.
- Provide hands-on training on machinery operation, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage shift schedules and ensure discipline on the shop floor.
6. Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Report machine breakdowns promptly and assist in troubleshooting.
- Ensure calibration and upkeep of critical production equipment.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily production logs, downtime reports, and efficiency records.
- Track yield losses and wastage; recommend corrective actions.
- Support internal, statutory, and customer audits by maintaining proper documentation.
8. Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
- Drive initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce wastage.
- Implement Lean practices, 5S, and Kaizen activities for operational excellence.
- Ensure consistent product quality with minimal rejection rates.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of water treatment and bottling processes.
- Hands-on experience in production line management.
- Familiarity with BIS, FSSAI, and ISO standards.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Problem-solving and process optimization skills.
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Food Technology.
- 4-8 years of experience in production operations, preferably in the water/beverages industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety compliance requirements.
