Production Engineer

1. Fabrication Planning & Execution:

• Interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
  
• Plan the fabrication sequence, process routes, and workflows.
  
• Ensure fabrication activities (cutting, bending, welding, assembly) align with project timelines.
  

2. Production Oversight:

• Supervise daily production operations on the shop floor.
  
• Allocate work to fitters, welders, and machine operators.
  
• Monitor resource utilization (material, labor, machines).
  

3. Quality Assurance:

• Inspect fabricated parts to ensure dimensional and quality compliance.
  
• Coordinate with quality control team for stage-wise and final inspections.
  
• Assist in non-conformance analysis and corrective actions.
  

4. Welding and Assembly Supervision:

• Ensure welding is carried out as per WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
  
• Monitor joint preparation, fit-up, and welding quality.
  
• Oversee sub-assembly and final assembly processes.
  

5. Material Management:

• Estimate material requirements and minimize wastage.
  
• Ensure traceability of raw materials and consumables.
  

6. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and PPE use.
  
• Comply with ISO, ASME, or other relevant fabrication standards.
  

7. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain production logs, time sheets, and daily progress reports.
  
• Document welding logs, inspection reports, and process deviations.
  

8. Process Improvement:

• Identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements in jigs, fixtures, or process flow.
  
• Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  

Skills Required:

• Deep knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, grinding, etc.)
  
• Proficiency in reading engineering and fabrication drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  
• Understanding of material properties (especially metals like SS, MS, AL)
  
• Familiarity with quality standards (ISO 3834, ASME, AWS D1.1)
  
• Team handling and shift management skills
