Production Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Plan and schedule shift-wise production targets.
• Ensure 100% production achievement as per shift targets.
• Monitor and reduce machine idle time and hold time.
• Program machines and robots as per production schedules and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure all machines are accurately programmed before shift start.

Productivity & Efficiency

• Drive productivity improvements and control rejections.
• Maintain Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) > 90% for injection molding.
• Maintain SMED standards:
• Minimize raw material wastage:

Material & Inventory Management

• Monitor raw material issuance and finished goods supply to stores.
• Reconcile material usage daily.
• Ensure deposited material matches issued material.

Quality Assurance

• Check product quality, label marking, and packaging.
• Ensure separation of defects before packaging and delivery.
• Maintain in-process PPM and meet customer PPM targets.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and submit:
• Daily productivity MIS before the next shift.
• Monthly production reports.
• Machine-wise monthly analysis reports.
• Reports on mold changeover, idle time, hold time, and repair time.
• Factor order closing reports.
• Ensure 100% accuracy and timely submission of all reports.
• Complete all documentation before audits with no major NCs.

Order Management

• Close orders as per the production plan.
• Fill scrap notes or non-usable material details post order closing.

Team Management & Training

• Manage manpower and ensure effective utilization.
• Conduct operator training before machine handover.
• Support the operations team in executing special projects.

Audit & Compliance

• Handle internal and customer audits.
• Ensure 100% adherence internal systems.
• Comply with IATF 16949 standards and adhere to Control Plans, PFMEA, PPAP, and standard process parameters.

Continuous Improvement & Participation

• Support improvement projects and participate in tiered meetings.
• Contribute constructively to team initiatives and special assignments.
