Role Snapshot

• Purpose:

  Lead safe plastic alternative from R&D into rugged, regulatory-ready products

Key Responsibilities

• Translate program scope into clear execution plan with milestones and controls
• Own bill of materials, vendor qualification, QC, and pilot builds
• Coordinate across biochemistry, polymers, toxicology, and mechanical engineering
• Ensure materials are free of endocrine-disrupting additives and validated through screening
• Deliver durability in heat, humidity, and high-stress conditions
• Align with India/EU/US regulatory requirements and EPR obligations
• Drive cost-down levers while preserving safety and performance

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years in packaging/materials product management with factory execution in India
• Degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology plus polymer/process exposure
• Genetic engineering literacy and ability to use modeling tools
• Fluency in EU 10/2011, FDA FCN, and India regulatory/EPR frameworks
• Proven success on contract manufacturer factory floors

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record replacing harmful additives with safe alternatives
• Experience with PHA/PLA/PEF bio-polymers
• Led migration and toxicology testing end to end
• Familiarity with retailer chemical standards and negotiations
