About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate with a passion for non-fiction storytelling, strong grounding in documentary film processes, and the ability to work in fast-paced, real-world environments. The ideal candidate will assist the Creative lead & coordinate with the studio team through every stage of production - from story development and research to shoot coordination and post-production support. This is not just a desk job. Were looking for someone deeply invested in documentary storytelling, ready to be in the field in Punjab, curious about people, and able to balance the creative with the logistical. What youll do: End-to-End Project Coordination (Pre-Production to Post-Production) Conduct in-depth online and offline research to support story development including identifying locations, characters, and contextual details. Assist the creative lead and support the editors in shaping story arcs, identifying strong case studies, mapping potential contributors, and aligning narrative choices with the film's objective. Collaborate on beat sheets and step outlines to build narrative flow, visual references, and shot breakdowns in line with the creative lead's vision. Coordinate with writers to follow up on scripts, treatments, and timely submissions. Liaise with the RG team to arrange logistics, permissions, ground support, and recce/location scouting. Assist in crew coordination, ensuring alignment on schedule, deliverables, and expectations across departments. In all productions, adhere closely to Roundglass standards, design, science & safety guidelines, & ethical practices. On-Ground Shoot Management Act as the bridge between crew, production, and contributors ensuring scenes are set up, shot sequences are followed, and the shoot stays on track. Maintain detailed shoot logs, manage the on-ground flow, and support the creative lead and the editors in decision-making during real-time constraints. Post-Production Support Work closely with the creative lead and the editors to structure footage into a cohesive narrative and visual arc. Provide editorial support through logs, story notes, character context, and visual references. Help identify graphics or design inputs as needed and stay involved through the final packaging and master delivery of the film. Qualifications & Skills 3-4 years experience in documentary or non-fiction filmmaking as Assistant Director or in a related role. Strong understanding of visual storytelling and narrative structures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ability to navigate ground realities and communicate across departments and communities. Fluency in English (spoken and written). Conversational Hindi and Punjabi. Ability to adapt to unpredictable real-world settings and work with sensitivity to local culture and people. Willingness to travel and work on location in rural and semi-urban areas of Punjab. Prior experience in shoot scheduling, field research and shoot logging is a big plus.
