Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Operations:

  • Receive and review requisitions from vessels or Technical Superintendents.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for best price, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor PO status to ensure on-time delivery to vessels or designated ports.

Vendor Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with approved marine suppliers and service providers.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery).
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers based on technical and commercial criteria.

Logistics & Coordination:

  • Coordinate shipment and delivery logistics including consolidation, freight, and customs clearance.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Ensure all procurement records, POs, invoices, and delivery notes are accurately maintained.
  • Verify supplier invoices for accuracy and coordinate with finance for timely payments.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, maritime regulations, and vessel flag requirements.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, port agents, and vessels to ensure smooth delivery and receipt of goods.
  • Ensure critical spares and emergency supplies are expedited when required.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control and optimization.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Support budget planning and tracking of procurement expenses.

Qualification:

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the maritime or ship management industry.
  • Understanding of vessel systems, marine spares, and consumables.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, customs processes, and shipping documentation.
  • Knowledge of marine classification society and flag state requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and procurement software
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
