JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MANAGER-SOURCING

B.E or B.Tech (Mechanical/ Production /  Metallurgical Engineering)

Core Competencies required

ü Implementation of Key Purchase/ Procurement strategies, Contingency Plan and ensuring that Plans are aligned with project requirements.

ü Establishing of long term relationship with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply chain for contract orders.

ü Negotiating with the suppliers to get the best price and lead time

ü Ensuring the timely delivery of materials as per the delivery schedule

ü Solving the quality issues in co ordination with suppliers and QA Dept.

ü Establishing the potential vendors as a second source for high volume parts.

ü Evaluating the Vendors based on Quality and Delivery.

ü Ready to move (also abroad) to sites with critical activities for the needed time

ü Excellent Computer Skills, mainly MS Office. BAAN or SAP

ü Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Addl. Qualification (added advantage)

ü Knowledge and exposure in ISO -AS 9100

ü Work experience in Forging Industry (Preferably in Open Die Forging)

ü Experience in heavy Eng. Manufacturing/ Auto Motive industry also preparable. 

ü Exposure to the Selection of Materials and Metallurgy.

ü Exposure to Steel Melting, Refining and Ingot Casting Processes.

ü Exposed to international team-work

ü External training & Work experience in AutoCAD.

ü Liaising with the manufacturing plants to handle the logistics effectively

ü Knowledge in Sub contacting machining of Forging Parts

ü Knowledge in Sourcing Indirect materials.
