Procurement Executive

Role & responsibilities:-

Role Objective

To ensure timely, cost-effective & quality procurement of raw materials, aggregates, chemicals, resins, divider strips, tools & consumables required for terrazzo flooring projects. The role involves vendor management, cost negotiation, inventory control & coordination with project, R &D and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing:

• Identify & source terrazzo flooring raw materials such as marble chips, coloured aggregates, pigments, resins (epoxy/polyacrylate), cementitious binders, sealers & divider strips.
• Develop & maintain an approved vendor database for both domestic & imported materials.
• Float inquiries, obtain quotations & prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate price, credit terms & delivery schedules to ensure best value procurement.

2. Vendor Management:

• Evaluate & onboard new suppliers based on quality, reliability, capacity & cost parameters.
• Conduct periodic vendor audits in coordination with QA/QC teams.
• Build long-term supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical materials.

3. Cost & Inventory Control:

• Maintain optimum stock levels of terrazzo flooring consumables at central warehouse & project sites.
• Monitor inventory movement & reduce dead stock.
• Work with finance team for cost analysis & budget adherence.

4. Coordination & Support:

• Liaise with Project Execution teams for site-specific material planning & timely dispatches.
• Coordinate with R &D/Product Development team for new material trials & approvals.
• Support logistics team in smooth transportation, import documentation & timely deliveries.

5. Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies & statutory compliances.
• Prepare purchase orders, agreements & maintain proper records in ERP systems.
• Track vendor performance on delivery, quality & cost compliance.

Key Skills & Competencies:-

• Strong knowledge of construction chemicals / flooring materials, preferably terrazzo or epoxy/cementitious systems.
• Negotiation & vendor management skills.
• Inventory management & ERP knowledge (SAP / Oracle / Tally).
• Basic understanding of import procedures & logistics.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail & cost-conscious approach.
• Good communication & coordination skills.
• 36 years of purchase/procurement experience in construction chemicals, Flooring, or building materials industry.
• Experience in terrazzo, epoxy, or cementitious flooring projects will be an added advantage
