Job Description

The Procurement Engineer Nuclear Division is responsible for sourcing, vendor development, and procurement of critical materials, components, and services for nuclear projects, ensuring strict compliance with nuclear quality standards, regulatory requirements, delivery timelines, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute procurement activities for nuclear-grade raw materials, fabricated components, bought-out items, and specialized services.
  • Float RFQs/RFPs, evaluate techno-commercial offers, and negotiate terms in line with approved procurement policies.
  • Finalize purchase orders and contracts ensuring compliance with technical, quality, commercial, and statutory requirements.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop vendors capable of meeting nuclear quality and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate vendor audits, assessments, and approvals in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Monitor vendor performance on quality, delivery, documentation, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure procurement compliance with nuclear codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Verify material test certificates (MTCs), quality plans, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and statutory documents.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and customer inspections at vendor locations.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Projects, and Stores for seamless material availability.
  • Track critical long-lead items and ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Resolve technical and commercial deviations in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality and compliance.
  • Update procurement MIS, reports, and vendor records as required.

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering / Production Engineering (mandatory).

Experience:

* 3–8 years of relevant experience in procurement for nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.

* Proven exposure to nuclear-grade procurement is strongly preferred.
