Printed Circuit Board Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create circuit schematics for boards ranging from digital, analog to mixed signals

• Develop PCB footprints for components

• Design PCBs that fulfil space, shape and functional requirements in accordance with mechanical and electrical design

• Design PCBs that meet regulatory standards like CE, UL, FCC, RoHS, etc.

• Design PCBs that meet EMI/EMC requirements

• Generate engineering documentation for PCB assembly, including schematics, bills of materials, and assembly drawings (Gerber files, pick and place data, etc.).

• Component obsolescence treatment: alternative solution identification, definition/design of the solution and verification

• Learn new skills and technologies based on project requirement

• Keep updated with the latest PCB materials, layer construction techniques, manufacturing guidelines, and implementing them into designs as applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.Tech./B.E./Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in PCB Design using software packages like KiCad (preferred) or any other PCB design software suite.

• Skilled in PCB design for EMI/EMC, Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)

• Must have good experience with Schematic design, Footprint/library creation as per IPC Standards

• Good knowledge of Through hole, SMT & BGA packages and its implementation

• Working with Microcontrollers, DSP, Memories, Protocol converters layout considerations

• Problem-solving skills for PCBA issues and root cause analysis

• Should have working experience to read and understand schematics and datasheets

• Good analytical skills

• Team player with good communication skills

• Should be motivated to learn quickly and adapt.

• Good verbal and written communication skills
