Key Notes on what the SME will be doing for better sourcing - SME team will check the design, work closely with implementation team, then help them do the handover to the operations teamSME will act as the point of escalation, work closely with engineering team for design from day 0 for implementation and design SME team / core team to fill the gap between engineering and implementation.Responsible to handle WAN and multicast related issuesGood with L2/L3 VPN Services in VRF contextSME team will support and drive the fix, discuss with partners/vendors etc. well-versed with migrationsWork closely with cyber security to mitigate any vulnerabilitiesCCIE level expert needed, digging into the fabrics, review automations (Ansible Python) etc. Preparing WAN resources. MPLS, Segment routing, low latency Wider Network experience.Position SummaryAs a highly skilled principal network engineer, you will be responsible for the ongoing support and reliability of all components within the organization's ecosystem, encompassing platforms, networks, applications, and services. In this role, you will provide escalation support for important network services, ensuring the operational stability and performance of the organization's global network. You will also find opportunities and improvements, then define requirements for software automation to enhance the features, functions and reliability of the network, underpinning organization's digital platforms.Role ResponsibilitiesWe will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining systems, software, and applications across various domains, ensuring the highest quality outcomes. We will independently make technical design and amendment decisions, effectively leading the workload.By analyzing data and understanding business requirements, we will translate them into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with infrastructure and network capacity needs. We will develop dashboards to provide near real-time network status.Collaborating closely with network operations and service teams, we will provide in-depth technical support and guidance for all multicast- and WAN-related issues and implementations. This role requires a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of multicast protocols, WAN infrastructure, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.When necessary, we will lead upgrades, coordinating efforts with internal teams and third parties. Building accurate documentation and monitoring system performance are essential to support business activities and continuous improvement.We will support the deployment of engineering patterns and contribute to creating solutions by coordinating design requirements to be automated, tested and releasedRequirementsProven experience in network products and services, with specific focus on Cisco WAN technologies, including ASR and Nexus9K.Expertise in LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPLS, LDP, GRE, BGP, OSPF, and ISIS within a VRF context for L2/L3VPN services, Traffic Engineering, and RSVP.Comprehensive knowledge of multicast concepts, including PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, IGMP, MVPN, and MLDP.Proficiency in product-aligned, service-focused work, with a solid grasp of network automation, SRE, and DevOps or equivalent experience.Working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools like JIRA.Excellent skills in network packet analysis and packet capture tools for troubleshooting.Familiarity with load balancing technologies, TCP/IP, and multicast in internet environments.Understanding of low-latency technologies commonly used in the financial sector.Experience in Data Centre Networking, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Cisco ACI, VxLAN, and related technologies.Proficiency in Service Management processes, preferably with ITIL knowledge.Excellent spoken and written English skills, enabling meaningful collaboration.Preferred Skills and ExperienceA bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a technology-related field is essential.CCIE certification, is highly desirable (including actively pursuing accreditations).Significant experience in technology-focused positions is crucial.Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols.Substantial experience (5+ Years) as a WAN Network Engineer.Exposure to Network Service Providers or the Financial Services Sector.
