Principal (Law)

This is a full-time leadership position responsible for shaping academic direction, maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring quality research and teaching, mentoring faculty, and guiding the growth of the Law Department.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in legal academia, research, postgraduate instruction, and institutional governance.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

Academic Qualifications

• LL.M. (Master of Laws) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).
• Ph.D. in Law from a recognized university.
• Ph.D. notification is mandatory.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of teaching and/or research experience in Law at recognized institutions.
• At least 5 years of postgraduate teaching experience (LL.M. level).
• At least 3 years of experience in guiding research.
• Minimum 10 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• A Research Score of 110 as per UGC Regulations, 2018 (Appendix II, Table 2).
• Experience in administration and academic leadership is highly desirable.
  

Acceptable Experience:

• Any full-time (contractual or permanent) experience in Government Institutions.
• Full-time experience in Universities (Private or Government).
• Experience in Private Colleges only if appointed under Statute 28 of the College Code.
• Part-time or guest faculty experience is not considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Academic and administrative leadership of the Law Department and the College as a whole.
• Ensure compliance with BCI, UGC, and university regulations.
• Promote a culture of research, publication, and academic excellence.
• Mentor and guide faculty members, students, and research scholars.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, affiliating university, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to institutional policy formulation and implementation.

Renumeration:

• CTC Range: ₹3,00,000 – ₹7,20,000 per annum (negotiable based on profile and experience)
• Statutory deductions such as Provident Fund, ESIC, etc., will apply based on the mutually agreed terms with the Governing Body.
