Principal Fire Engineer

Role Overview: You will be the Principal Fire Engineer at Burkan Engineering, leading fire engineering projects to ensure the highest standards in fire safety design, consulting, and regulation compliance. Your role will involve providing expert guidance on fire protection system designs, conducting fire risk assessments, and collaborating with various teams to deliver innovative fire safety solutions across building and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: - Lead complex fire engineering projects, ensuring client requirements and regulatory standards are met. - Conduct fire risk assessments, fire modelling, and develop fire safety strategies for structures and industrial facilities. - Provide expert guidance on fire protection system designs, including suppression, detection, and alarm systems integration. - Respond to RFPs/RFIs, develop compelling proposals, effort estimates, and technical presentations. - Collaborate with sales teams to drive customer conversations, technical workshops, and demos. - Oversee technical reviews, quality assurance, and delivery handoffs to clients. - Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members. - Engage with clients effectively to understand their needs and provide professional consultation and solutions. - Stay current with fire codes, standards (such as NFPA), and emerging fire protection technologies. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. - 10+ years of relevant experience in fire engineering consultancy or related fields. - Strong knowledge of international and local fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, NBC). - Proficiency in fire engineering software tools like FDS, Pathfinder, AutoCAD, Revit, SprinkCad, FireCad, or CFD software. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. - Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management abilities.
