Job Description

As a Principal Engineer-Piping on mining projects, you will be responsible for: - Having in-depth knowledge of piping design codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and ASME B31.8, along with process engineering principles and equipment specifications. - Designing and developing piping systems and components, reviewing detailed piping layout drawings, and collaborating with the project team to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. - Reviewing design specifications, managing vendors, conducting technical evaluations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for piping items. - Preparing pipe wall thickness calculations, valve material specifications, RFQs for piping bulk items, and technical bid study reports for valves and piping specialties. - Developing inspection and testing plans for tanks and vessels, reporting progress to supervisors, and communicating effectively with internal peers and project teams. - Coordinating with Australian lead offices, participating in the design process, ensuring quality procedures are maintained, and embedding Health & Safety practices into work practices. - Identifying improvements to enhance service delivery to clients and completing work status updates with regular communication. In terms of qualifications, the ideal candidate should have: - 13-17 years of experience in piping, static, and rotary equipment engineering. - A minimum of a bachelor's degree and a preferred master's degree in mechanical engineering, along with a PG diploma or certificate in Piping engineering. - Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with working in a LEAN environment. - Experience with projects in Australia and New Zealand would be advantageous, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - C. Eng, P. Eng qualification would be an added advantage. Additionally, the desired skills for this role include Australian experience, 14-18 years of experience in a consulting firm in an EPCM environment, and experience in engineering design and shop detailing of Chutes, Bins, Hoppers, and conveyor components.
