Principal Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Sales teamsprimarily in APAC and EU regions, and occasionally with US counterparts—toparticipatein early-stage customer engagements. Understand prospect needs, existing data infrastructure, architectural limitations, and pain points. Tailor and deliver product demos that use storytelling to directly connect product capabilities to the prospect’s real-world challenges. 
  
• Serve as a technical authority during enterprise sales engagements byvalidatingsolutions, customizing demos, and addressing technical objections. Ensure alignment between the proposed solution and the customer’s ecosystem and constraints. 
  
• Maintain a current understanding of competing platforms and technologies. Support the creation of technical comparison matrices and value differentiation frameworks that support sales and product positioning. 
  
• Provide structured feedback to Product Managementregardingplatform capabilities, usability enhancements, integration gaps, and feature requests—based on firsthand interaction with prospects and their environments. 
  
• Develop demos that simulate customer data environments. These demos should highlight critical product capabilities such as data quality monitoring, lineage tracking, profiling, and analytical insights. 
  
• Lead and support the development of generalized demo frameworks as well as domain-specific use cases tailored for key verticals such asBFSI,manufacturing, and retail. 
  
• Provide architectural mentorship and technical oversight to junior data engineers within the Solution Engineering team, fostering a culture of learning, quality, and innovation. 
  

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience. 
  
• Provenexperience incustomer-facing, consultative roleswithinenterprise environments. 
  
• Deep knowledge of distributed data systems, including data lineage, data quality, governance, profiling, and transformation. 
  
• Strongproficiencyin Python, SQL, Spark, and data. 
  
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), withdeepexpertisein at least one. 
  
• Proven experience in building, deploying, and managing data pipelines using modern data stack tools. 
  
• Ability to learn and put up concepts fast. 
  
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to translatecustomer expectationsinto technical narratives. 
  
• Comfort with demo storytelling, executive presentations, and working in partnership with sales and product teams. 
  

Preferred 

• Experience withData-as-a-Product, Data Mesh, or Data Fabricconcepts. 
  
• Familiarity withdata governance, security, and regulatory compliance frameworks(e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). 
  
• Exposure toAI/ML enablement and advanced analytics pipelines
