Principal Data Engineer

Role Overview: Blenheim Chalcot India, a part of the leading venture builder globally, is seeking high energy and motivated individuals to join their MarTech venture, Fospha. As a Data Engineering Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing data projects, maintaining data integrity, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a team of data engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the quality of data across various sources. Additionally, you will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining data models for ML Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. - Oversee the planning and execution of data projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines. - Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, promoting best practices in data engineering. - Implement and maintain ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes using scalable data pipelines and data architecture. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions. - Ensure data integrity and quality across various data sources. - Support data-driven decision-making by providing clean, reliable, and timely data. - Define standards for high-quality data for Data Science and Analytics use-cases and shape the data roadmap for the domain. - Design, develop, and maintain data models used by ML Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists to access data. - Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover data patterns and trends. - Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive continuous improvement in data operations. - Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data engineering. Qualification Required: - Prior experience of leading a team and being responsible for the final tech sign-off. - Excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL technologies. - Fluent in Python programming. - Understanding of data architecture, pipelines, and ELT flows/technology/methodologies. - Understanding of agile methodologies and practices.
