Primary Underwriter

Job Responsibilities:Review and evaluate applications, documents, and risk profiles Analyze financials, medical history (if applicable), income proofs, and supporting papers Assess risk and decide on approvals, declines, or modifications as per company policy Work closely with sales teams and relationship managers for clarification and documentation Ensure underwriting decisions follow internal guidelines and regulatory standards Maintain accurate underwriting records, reports, and case logs Communicate decisions clearly to stakeholders within defined TAT Support audit, quality checks, and process improvements Required Skills & Competencies:Strong analytical and decision-making ability Good understanding of underwriting principles (insurance/loans — specify as needed) Attention to detail and risk-assessment mindset Good communication and documentation skills Ability to work under deadlines and maintain accuracy Qualifications: Graduate (Commerce/Finance preferred) Experience in underwriting (insurance / loans / credit) preferred Knowledge of compliance and risk policies will be an added advantage
