Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Engagement
    • Work with prospects and clients to understand business needs, challenges, and desired outcomes.
    • Conduct discovery sessions, requirement gathering, and solution workshops.
  2. Solution Architecture
    • Translate business needs into scalable Salesforce architecture (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, etc.).
    • Design high-level solution blueprints, integrations, and data models.
    • Ensure alignment with Salesforce best practices and technical governance.
  3. Pre-Sales Activities
    • Support RFPs/RFIs by preparing responses, solution diagrams, and architecture decks.
    • Deliver compelling product demos and proof-of-concepts (POCs).
    • Estimate effort, complexity, and costs for proposed Salesforce solutions.
    • Work closely with account executives and sales teams to shape deals.
  4. Thought Leadership
    • Stay updated with Salesforce ecosystem innovations (AI, Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Slack).
    • Guide clients on Salesforce roadmap and strategic adoption.
    • Present at webinars, workshops, or customer events as a Salesforce expert.
  5. Collaboration
    • Partner with delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and implementable.
    • Work with partners and ISVs to recommend accelerators or third-party solutions.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture, including declarative and programmatic features.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, security, data migration, and scalability.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills (to engage both business and technical stakeholders).
  • Ability to build trust quickly and influence client decisions.
  • Experience with pre-sales processes: proposals, estimates, and solution demos.

Typical Background

  • 10+ years in Salesforce ecosystem (consulting/architecture roles).
  • Experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Lead Consultant before moving into pre-sales.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, or CTA (Certified Technical Architect) are highly valued.
  • Exposure to industry-specific Salesforce solutions (Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
