About the Role
The PR & Communication Manager will lead the development and execution of communication strategies that strengthen the company's reputation, enhance brand trust, and position the company as a credible leader in the fintech industry. This role requires deep understanding of financial regulations, consumer trust dynamics, media relations, and storytelling within the fintech ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Media & Public Relations (Fintech Focus)
- Build and nurture relationships with business, finance, technology journalists, and fintech influencers.
- Secure high-impact media coverage across financial publications, tech media, and broadcast channels.
- Draft and distribute press releases, product launch announcements, regulatory updates, and thought-leadership stories.
- Manage media inquiries, interviews, and speaking engagements for key executives.
Communication Strategy & Brand Positioning
- Develop communication plans tailored to fintech audiences such as regulators, investors, partners, and end-users.
- Craft clear and compliant messaging around financial products, data security, compliance, and product benefits.
- Position the company as a trusted and innovative fintech brand through storytelling and market insights.
Regulatory & Crisis Communication
- Prepare and manage communication strategies for sensitive matters such as regulatory updates, product outages, or security incidents.
- Work closely with compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure accurate, transparent, and regulation-aligned communication.
- Develop crisis-response protocols and act as key spokesperson during critical situations.
Content Creation & Thought Leadership
- Create high-quality content including whitepapers, case studies, industry reports, blog posts, and social media narratives.
- Draft communication for top leadership including speeches, statements, and opinion pieces for financial publications.
- Collaborate with the product team to simplify complex financial/technical concepts for public consumption.
Internal Communications
- Strengthen internal culture through engaging newsletters, announcements, and leadership communication.
- Ensure employees are well-informed about product releases, achievements, regulatory changes, and company updates.
Event & Community Engagement
- Manage participation in fintech events, conferences, panels, and industry forums.
- Oversee brand presence in fintech associations, regulatory roundtables, investor meetings, and innovation summits.
- Coordinate webinars and community engagements to build brand credibility.
Monitoring, Insights & Reporting
- Track fintech media trends, competitor communication strategies, and policy updates.
- Monitor media sentiment and prepare monthly PR performance dashboards.
- Use insights to refine communication strategies and strengthen brand reputation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 47 years of experience in PR or Communications, preferably in fintech, BFSI, or technology.
- Strong relationships with finance, business, and technology media.
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills with the ability to simplify financial terminology.
- Experience handling crisis and regulatory communication.
- Understanding of fintech trends, digital payments, lending, compliance, and data security concepts.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with regulated financial products (e.g., payments, lending, wealth management, insurance, crypto).
- Knowledge of PR analytics tools (Meltwater, Cision, Talkwalker).
- Experience working with PR agencies and external communication partners.
- Ability to create multimedia content (videos, presentations, visual storytelling).
- Prior experience in investor communication or startup ecosystem exposure.
