Port Operations - MSIL

You will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and providing support in activities related to vehicle export operations at Ports. This includes resolving issues and concerns of port teams (Outsource & MSIL), arranging supplies of parts and consumables to ports, and negotiating with vendors and logistics service providers (LSP) for their services. Your duties will also involve coordinating for internal and external audits, formulating and circulating MIS reports, preparing business plans and strategies, and coordinating with port teams to understand and resolve their concerns. Additionally, you will be responsible for RFQ and rate negotiation for new and existing vendors, liaising with ports and customs, and ensuring overall coordination within MSIL and with LSPs/Vendors. You will work closely with various departments in logistics and International Marketing to ensure timely readiness of vehicles for export as per the shipment plan. Your role will also include ensuring accurate and complete export documentation, staying updated with export regulations, and supporting port teams in ensuring the export worthiness of vehicles at ports. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing vehicle inventory at the port, minimizing costs related to demurrage, detention, and storage, addressing concerns related to vehicle exports promptly, and developing contingency plans for potential issues in the export process. You will also analyze export processes for efficiency, participate in cross-functional teams, and review and implement legal, environmental, and safety compliances. This role requires organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of international trade and logistics. You are expected to work collaboratively with various teams and external partners to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant export of Maruti Suzuki's vehicles. Key Competencies / Skills: - Basic understanding in Sales and Distribution Operations. - Proficiency in MS Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Power BI, etc. - Knowledge of logistics operations, especially exports related custom regulations & export benefits. - Understanding of vendor management, performance monitoring, and benchmarking. - Basic understanding of API integration and other IT systems. - Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills. - Ability to work independently and with a team. - Sound analytical and problem-solving ability. - Ability to adapt as per organizational requirements. - MBA in Operations would be a plus.
