About the Role

We are looking for a Political Content & Social Media Manager to run and grow a political page across social media platforms. The ideal person lives and breathes current affairs, enjoys deep-diving into issues, and can convert complex topics into engaging, accurate, and easy to understand content.

Responsibilities

• Track daily current affairs, political developments, and key policy debates.
• Research topics in depth using credible sources and prepare summaries/briefs.
• Create engaging content for social media (posts, threads, carousels, scripts, captions, etc.).
• Plan and manage a content calendar aligned with important dates, events, and issues.
• Coordinate with designers/video editors (or use basic design tools) to create visuals.
• Monitor page performance (reach, engagement, followers) and tweak strategy accordingly.
• Engage with the audience through comments, replies, and community management, while maintaining a respectful tone.
• Ensure all content follows platform policies and avoids misinformation, hate speech, or incitement.

Requirements

• Strong interest in politics and current affairs.
• 1–3+ years of experience in social media management, content writing, journalism, public policy, or digital marketing (political experience is a plus).
• Excellent written communication skills in [language(s) – e.g., Tamil/English/Hindi/].
• Ability to research quickly and fact-check information using reputable sources.
• Basic understanding of social media analytics and platform tools.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

• Previous work with political campaigns, public figures, NGOs, or media organisations.
• Experience scripting for Reels/YouTube Shorts or podcast-style content.
• Familiarity with tools like Canva, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Meta Business Suite.
