Job Title

Data Center Plumber

Role Summary

Install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing systems critical to data center infrastructure supporting cooling loops, condensate management, fire suppression, and domestic water systems while ensuring high standards of reliability, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities System Installation & Commissioning

Assemble, install, and align piping systems hydronic, condensate, and fire suppression using soldering, brazing, welding, clamp, solvent, and mechanical connections as per blueprints and plumbing codes.

Pressure-test pipes using air or water to locate leaks and ensure integrity .

Maintenance & Repairs

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of pipelines, valves, condensate drains, pumps, strainers, heat exchangers, and safety systems (e.g. eyewash stations) .

Handle plumbing emergencies, such as clogged drains or pipe failures, to minimize risk to IT infrastructure.

Cooling & Hydronics Support

Maintain hydronic rack-cooling, chilled-water loops, cooling towers, condensate systems, and associated pumps.

Manage condensate removal and water-based cooling systems to prevent flooding and support HVAC operations.

Documentation & Coordination

Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and blueprints; prepare material estimates and order requisitions.

Log service reports, part usage, inventory, and maintenance actions using CMMS or similar tools.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure plumbing work meets local and international codes and standards; perform hazard assessments and follow LOTO, PPE, and site safety protocols.

Protect against condensation, leaks, and electrical hazards near sensitive IT systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2-5 years in industrial/commercial plumbing or HVAC support, preferably within data center or critical facilities .

Valid plumbing license or certification (e.g., journeyman or equivalent trade qualification) resources.

Proficiency in pipe bending, threading, soldering/brazing, welding, and mechanical joining methods.

Strong ability to read blueprints, diagrams, P&IDs, and building codes.

Experience with hydronic systems, cooling towers, chilled-water/hot-water loops, and condensate systems.

Physical capability to lift up to 60 lbs, work in varying temperature environments, and climb ladders or navigate confined spaces.
