Platform Engineering Manager

As an experienced Platform Engineering Manager at Plan A Technologies, your role will involve leading the DevOps, infrastructure, and internal tools teams to define and scale the platform architecture supporting high-performance, high-availability systems in cloud and on-premise deployments. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and growing the platform engineering team, comprising DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, and infrastructure developers across different locations. - Defining and evolving CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, and environment provisioning strategies for cloud-based and on-premise systems. - Owning and enhancing the cloud/on-premise infrastructure footprint, managing hybrid architectures (e.g., AWS, on-site servers, edge nodes). - Championing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi. - Developing and enforcing observability standards, leading incident response and postmortem processes. - Collaborating with product engineering to ensure seamless build, test, deploy workflows, and reduce lead time to production. - Optimizing and securing infrastructure for performance, scalability, redundancy, and compliance. - Guiding architectural decisions on deployment topologies, secrets management, data replication, and failover strategies. - Establishing governance for access control, environment segregation, and secure credentials handling. - Tracking and managing infrastructure spend, optimizing for cost efficiency without compromising reliability or compliance. Qualifications required for the role: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. - 7+ years of experience in platform/DevOps/SRE roles, with at least 2 years in a people or technical leadership role. - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Familiarity with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools. - Strong networking knowledge, service meshes, VPNs, and secure inter-service communication. - Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams and excellent communication skills. - Organized, analytical working style with initiative and drive. Nice to have qualifications: - Experience with IoT or hybrid edge-cloud systems, observability stacks, and security/compliance frameworks relevant to gaming or financial industries. - Background in casino systems, gaming hardware/software integration, or embedded platforms.
