Plant / Operations Manager

Role Overview:

The Plant / Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient production, adherence to safety standards, and alignment with organizational goals. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence and achieving production targets in a high-compliance, engineering-to-order environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage plant operations, including production, safety, and quality control.

- Implement and monitor 5S and daily SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) practices.

- Ensure adherence to takt time and first-pass yield targets.

- Develop and maintain operational schedules to meet production goals.

- Lead and mentor the operations team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and implement solutions.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

- 8+ years of experience in plant operations, preferably in the defense or manufacturing sector.

- Proven track record of managing production schedules and achieving operational KPIs.

- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and root-cause analysis.

- Preferred (not required): Proficiency in tools such as SAP, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and Six Sigma certifications. The company is willing to provide training or fund certifications for the right candidate.

Salary Range:

- INR 12-16 LPA (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
