Job Description

Job Title: Plant In charge - Solar Plant (Tosham Site)

Location: Tosham, Haryana

Job Summary:

The Plant In charge will be responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, and management of the solar power plant located at Tosham. This includes ensuring the plant operates efficiently, safely, and within environmental and regulatory guidelines. The role involves leadership of plant personnel, optimizing plant performance, and ensuring minimal downtime. The In charge will be a key point of contact for all technical and operational matters concerning the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the solar power plant.
  • Monitor and ensure the plant operates at optimum capacity.
  • Ensure smooth execution of all operational activities, such as panel cleaning, inverter checks, and grid connection.
  • Manage the startup, operation, and shutdown of the plant as per defined procedures.
  • Maintenance and Technical Support:

  • Perform regular inspections of solar plant equipment and infrastructure (solar panels, inverters, transformers, etc.).
  • Supervise maintenance and repair work, both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Coordinate with service providers and vendors for equipment and part replacement.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure the plant adheres to safety protocols and complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits and maintain proper records.
  • Implement best practices for maintaining safety standards on-site.
  • Ensure all statutory compliance with regard to local and national laws is met.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track and monitor the performance of the plant (e.g., energy generation, capacity utilization, etc.).
  • Provide regular reports on plant performance, maintenance schedules, and issues to the senior management.
  • Perform data analysis and suggest measures for improving efficiency and energy production.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead a team of technicians, operators, and other staff at the site.
  • Provide training to ensure the team is well-versed in equipment handling, safety measures, and operational procedures.
  • Assign tasks, supervise daily activities, and ensure high levels of discipline and performance.
  • Inventory Management:

  • Maintain stock of essential spare parts and materials required for plant operations.
  • Manage inventory levels, and ensure the timely procurement of parts.
  • Budget & Cost Control:

  • Monitor operating costs, perform budget forecasting, and suggest cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and reduce unnecessary expenditures.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelors or Master s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in renewable energy or solar energy will be an added advantage.
  • Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in plant operations, with at least 2-3 years in the solar power sector.
  • Hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of solar plants, including understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, and other key equipment.
  • Experience in managing teams and overseeing plant operations in an industrial or energy environment.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of solar plant operation and control systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems for monitoring plant performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and environmental regulations in the renewable energy sector.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Work Environment:

  • The position is based on-site at the solar power plant in Tosham (Haryana).
  • The role may require working in outdoor environments and on-site inspections in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required to ensure plant operations run smoothly.
