Job Title:

Job Summary:

The Production Head will be responsible for leading all aspects of the production process in  Glasss state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing daily operations to ensure optimized productivity, high-quality output, timely delivery, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate should possess deep technical knowledge of glass processing (toughened, laminated, insulated, printed, etc.) and a proven ability to manage teams in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement daily/weekly/monthly production plans aligned with sales and inventory requirements.

• Monitor and optimize the production schedule to maximize machine utilization and reduce downtime.

• Ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders without compromising quality.

2. Process Management

• Supervise the end-to-end glass processing operations including toughening, laminating, DGU, bending, digital printing, edge polishing, and more.

• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks and drive continuous process improvements.

• Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

3. Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure product specifications and quality benchmarks are met.

• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce rework and customer complaints.

4. Manpower Management

• Lead, train, and manage production supervisors, operators, and floor staff.

• Ensure proper shift rotations and workforce planning to maintain optimal efficiency.

• Promote safety, discipline, and performance culture across teams.

5. Maintenance & Coordination

• Coordinate with maintenance and utilities team to minimize machine breakdowns and support preventive maintenance schedules.

• Ensure all production equipment and tools are in safe and working condition.

6. Safety, Compliance & Documentation

• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and legal regulations.

• Ensure compliance with ISO/BIS and other statutory requirements.

• Maintain production logs, reports, downtime analysis, and process documentation.

7. Cost & Waste Control

• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for savings in material usage, energy, and labor.

• Lead initiatives for yield improvement, scrap reduction, and lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, etc.).

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Deep understanding of glass processing techniques and equipment.

• Hands-on experience with automated glass processing lines (e.g., Glaston, Tamglass, Lisec, Bottero, etc.).

• Strong planning, execution, and team management abilities.

• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office tools.

• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

• B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Glass Technology or related field.

• 10 to 15 years of experience in production management within the glass or related industry.
