Job Purpose

To manage, maintain, and ensure optimal utilization of all plant and machinery at the project site to support uninterrupted construction/mining operations while maintaining safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Equipment Planning & Deployment

  • Assess project machinery requirements based on BOQ and timelines.
  • Plan and coordinate mobilization/demobilization of equipment.
  • Identify equipment needs for purchase, rental, or transfer from other sites.

2. Maintenance & Operations

  • Ensure implementation of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules.
  • Minimize equipment downtime and maintain high availability.
  • Supervise routine inspections, servicing, and repairs.
  • Maintain logbooks, equipment history, and service records.

3. Inventory & Spare Management

  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Manage stock levels and coordinate procurement in time.

4. Team Management

  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, electricians, operators, and helpers.
  • Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide training where needed.

5. Vendor & Service Management

  • Coordinate with OEMs, service providers, and spare suppliers.
  • Monitor AMC/CMC contracts, warranty services, and outsourced jobs.

6. Cost & Budget Control

  • Track fuel consumption, O&M costs, and lifecycle costs.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising on safety or performance.

7. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) protocols.
  • Maintain statutory documentation (e.g., pollution control, registration, lifting equipment certification).
  • Promote safety practices among operators and maintenance staff.

8. Reporting & Coordination

  • Submit periodic reports on equipment status, utilization, and downtime.
  • Coordinate with project planning, execution, and procurement teams for smooth operation.
