Job Description

Role Overview: As a Planning Manager in a Steel Trading Company, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, optimizing inventory management, and coordinating sales forecasting and demand planning activities. Your role will require strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and achieve sales targets. - Conduct market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive landscapes. - Collaborate with senior management to define business objectives, strategies, and action plans for the company. - Monitor industry dynamics, global steel market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making. - Develop and execute inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize costs, and maximize profitability. - Monitor inventory turnover rates, aging stock, and slow-moving items, proposing actions to optimize inventory levels. - Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and timely inventory replenishment. - Implement inventory control mechanisms, including the establishment of safety stock levels and reordering parameters. - Collaborate with the sales team to develop accurate sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights. - Conduct demand planning activities to anticipate customer requirements and optimize supply chain efficiency. - Analyze sales data, market demand, and customer feedback to identify demand patterns, seasonality, and potential risks. - Coordinate with production, logistics, and procurement teams to align supply with anticipated demand levels. Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. - Proven experience in planning, inventory management, or supply chain management, preferably in the steel trading industry. - Strong knowledge of steel products, market dynamics, pricing trends, and supply chain best practices. - Proficiency in demand forecasting techniques, inventory management systems, and planning software. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights. - Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management. - Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and data analysis tools. - Knowledge of international trade regulations, logistics, and documentation processes related to steel trading is a plus. Please note that the company provides cell phone reimbursement as a benefit. This is a full-time, permanent position with a day shift schedule. It is required to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra before starting work. A bachelor's degree is preferred, and experience in planning and total work of 1-2 years is preferred. Proficiency in English and holding an Aadhar certification is also preferred.,
