Planning Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Release production orders, Stock Transfer Orders (STO), and purchase orders for internal assembly and subcontracted vendors.
• Develop and maintain production schedules in SAP, ensuring alignment with customer forecasts and demand.
• Schedule jobs and subcontractor tasks efficiently in SAP to meet delivery timelines.
• Monitor production progress and coordinate with the production department to meet need dates, taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Calculate raw material requirements based on forecasts and business trends.
• Coordinate with the purchase department to ensure material availability for uninterrupted production.
• Manage inventory levels, including raw materials (RMs), work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG), to prevent production disruptions.
• Perform monthly cycle counts and reconcile inventory at subcontractor locations.
• Ensure timely issuance of materials from the warehouse to vendors and subcontractors.
• Act as an interface between Sales, Purchase, and Manufacturing to address customer urgencies and priorities.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to clear finished goods and raw materials for use.
• Review capacity demand versus installed capacity, identifying and mitigating potential constraints.
• Conduct gap analysis of carry forward revenue and CRD (Customer Required Date) failures, publishing monthly reports and holding weekly reviews.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Support company focal points in achieving organizational goals and objectives.
• Take on additional projects or tasks as assigned by management

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/ B. Tech / Diploma Electrical/Mechanical/E&C Engineering
• Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in production planning & control
• Good experience in developing and maintaining production schedules in SAP, ensuring alignment with customer forecasts and demand
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma practices
