Job Description

Job Purpose: The Planning and Monitoring Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by managing schedules,resources, and monitoring project progress. This position involves creating and maintaining project plans, coordinating with cross- functional teams, identifying potential risks, and ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. The engineer will act as a central point for project status reporting, providing insights and recommendations to optimize project performance. Major Accountabilities Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project. Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables. Allocate resources effectively to align with project timelines and budgets. Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress against schedules and budgets. Generate regular progress reports, including S-curves, Gantt charts, and dashboards. Highlight deviations and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on goals and tasks. Facilitate communication between various teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and resource allocation issues. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor critical paths and key dependencies to ensure timely project delivery. Cost Management: Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets. Monitor actual expenditure against forecasts, identifying variances and suggesting solutions. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with project standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support audits and implement feedback to improve project planning processes. Experience 7+ years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring in industries such as construction, infrastructure, or manufacturing. Proven experience with project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent. Skills Technical Skills Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project). Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting. Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and other project performance metrics. Expertise in resource allocation and workload balancing techniques. Familiarity with cost estimation and budgeting processes. Knowledge of construction/project management standards, methodologies, and industry regulations. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project documentation. Understanding of risk analysis and mitigation strategies. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) (if applicable).
