Piling Engineer

• Site investigation: Review geotechnical reports, soil profiles, and load data.
• Pile type selection: Recommend appropriate pile type (e.g., bored, driven, CFA, micro-piles).
• Design calculations: Perform structural and geotechnical design of piles based on bearing capacity, settlement, and lateral load considerations.
• Drawings & documentation: Prepare pile layout, cross-sections, and technical specifications.
• Site setup: Ensure proper mobilization of piling rigs, cranes, and related equipment.
• Field supervision: Monitor installation methods, pile driving or boring, tremie concreting, reinforcement cage lowering.
• Ensure tolerances: Check verticality, depth, diameter, and alignment as per design.
• Adapt plans: Modify pile length or method if unexpected soil conditions arise.
• Integrity tests: Conduct or supervise pile integrity testing (PIT), sonic logging, or dynamic load tests.
• Load testing: Plan and oversee static or dynamic pile load tests (maintain test records and analyze results).
• Concrete quality: Monitor concrete workability, slump, and curing in piles.
• Record keeping: Maintain pile logs (depth, concrete volume, time, anomalies).
• Safety oversight: Enforce safe practices around heavy machinery and deep excavation.
• Environmental protection: Prevent contamination (especially near water bodies), ensure noise and vibration controls.
• Permit compliance: Ensure all piling operations adhere to local and project regulations.
• Progress reporting: Track daily progress and communicate with project managers and stakeholders.
• Technical documentation: Prepare as-built reports, load test reports, and piling logs.
• Team coordination: Liaise with structural engineers, geotechnical consultants, and construction teams.
