Job Description

Patient care: Perform physical exams, take medical histories, and conduct patient interviews
Diagnosis and treatment: Diagnose illnesses, formulate and manage treatment plans, and perform minor procedures Diagnostic testing: Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic scans Prescribing medication: Prescribe and refill medications Surgical assistance: Assist in surgeries, depending on the setting and credentials Patient education and counseling: Advise patients on healthy habits, disease prevention, and treatment options Administrative tasks: Maintain patient records using electronic health systems and other administrative duties Work environment and collaborationSetting: PAs work in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, private clinics, and specialty medical institutions Specialties: Their work can span nearly all medical specialties, from pri y care to surgery and emergency medicine Collaboration: They work as part of a healthcare team alongside physicians and other medical staff
