PHP Developer – WordPress & CodeIgniter Specialist

Job Summary

We’re seeking a skilled PHP Developer with hands-on experience in *WordPress, Core PHP, and CodeIgniter. You will build, maintain, and optimize dynamic web applications and WordPress-based sites, delivering high performance, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain web applications using PHP (Core PHP and CodeIgniter), and customize WordPress themes and plugins.

* Collaborate with UI/UX designers and front-end developers to integrate interactive features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, and Bootstrap.

* Optimize application speed, scalability, and security; ensure mobile responsiveness.

* Integrate RESTful APIs, payment gateways, and third‑party services.

* Conduct code reviews, debugging, unit testing, and adhere to clean code standards and best practices.

* Collaborate in Agile sprints or project phases—requirement analysis through deployment.

* Maintain documentation and support junior team members when needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

* *2-3+ years of experience* in PHP development, including WordPress theme/plugin customization and CodeIgniter framework. 

* Strong proficiency in PHP (Core PHP + CodeIgniter) and WordPress architecture (hooks, actions, block or Gutenberg development). 

* Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, REST APIs.

* Deep understanding of MVC, OOP, SQL/MySQL databases, and version control tools (Git preferred). 

* Familiar with server environment (LAMP/WAMP), web services, and performance tuning. 

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

* Experience with WooCommerce*, Elementor, Yoast SEO, multi-theme/plugin ecosystem. 

* Familiar with Laravel or other PHP frameworks (advantageous but not mandatory).

* Knowledge of advanced WP development (Gutenberg blocks, custom post types, REST API integrations).

* Understanding of build tools or deployment pipelines
