Job Title: Senior English Teacher (Classes IX to XII) Department: Academics Reporting To: Academic Coordinator / Principal Location: Saltlake Qualifications & Skills: Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in English. B.Ed. is mandatory. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in teaching English at the secondary/senior secondary level. Experience with board exam classes is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate English lessons (literature, grammar, writing, and communication). Follow the prescribed syllabus (ICSE) with proper lesson planning. Prepare students for Board Examinations (Class 10 & 12) with targeted guidance and mock assessments. Assessment & Evaluation: Design and conduct formative and summative assessments. Evaluate students’ performance through assignments, projects, and examinations. Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and report to parents/guardians regularly. Classroom Management: Establish a positive, disciplined learning environment. Encourage interactive discussions and student participation. Academic Enrichment: Organize debates, elocution, essay-writing competitions, and literature-related events. Promote reading habits through book reviews and literary activities. Remedial Support: Provide additional help to students who struggle academically. Offer enrichment to gifted students to develop higher-order thinking. Collaboration: Participate in department meetings, planning sessions, and school events. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular elements and project-based learning. Professional Development: Attend workshops, training programs, and faculty development initiatives. Stay updated with changes in curriculum and teaching methods. Skills: Excellent command over English (spoken and written). Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills. Familiarity with digital tools and online teaching platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, MS Teams). Empathy, patience, and passion for teaching. Working Conditions: Full-time position with standard school hours (as per institution policy). Active participation in parent-teacher meetings, annual functions, and extracurricular events expected.
