Payroll Manager

Role & responsibilities

Payroll Management

• Oversee complete payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy in salary computation, deductions, and reimbursements.
  
• Validate inputs from HR, attendance, leave, and finance departments before final payroll run.
  
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll closures, including full & final settlements.
  
• Lead a team of 3 payroll executives and ensure task allocation, review, and process adherence.
  

2. Compliance & Statutory Filings

• Ensure timely remittance and filing of PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax (TDS), and other statutory payments.
  
• Keep updated with labor law amendments and income tax changes; ensure system alignment with current rules.
  
• Coordinate with external auditors and consultants during audits and inspections.
  

3. Systems & Process Improvement

• Manage HRMS or payroll software (SAP, PeopleSoft, ADP, GreytHR, etc.) and ensure data integrity.
  
• Drive automation initiatives for improving payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  
• Develop and maintain payroll SOPs and control measures.
  

4. Employee Support & Communication

• Handle employee queries related to salary, taxation, and payslips with professionalism and confidentiality.
  
• Partner with HRBPs and Finance to resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
  
• Ensure timely release of payslips, Form 16, and other payroll-related documents.
  

5. Team Leadership

• Mentor, coach, and supervise payroll team members.
  
• Set performance goals, monitor deliverables, and conduct regular reviews.
  
• Build team capability through training on statutory and system updates.
