Job Summary:

Patching Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify systems and applications requiring patching.
Develop, document, and maintain patching schedules for servers, endpoints, and business-critical applications.
Automate patch deployment workflows using tools such as
SCCM
,
WSUS
, or equivalent platforms.
Coordinate with various stakeholders to plan patch windows that minimize business disruption.
Monitor patch deployment success rates and generate detailed compliance and status reports.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of IT assets and patch statuses.
Ensure strict adherence to SLAs as per client and organizational requirements.
Manage and maintain third-party patch management tools, ensuring compliance with security policies.
Investigate and troubleshoot patch-related failures or issues, performing root cause analysis as needed.
Stay informed on vendor patch releases, security advisories, and emerging vulnerabilities to proactively protect infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in
Computer Science
,
Information Technology
, or a related field.
Minimum of
2 years
experience in IT systems management or patching roles.
Hands-on experience with patch management tools such as
SCCM
,
WSUS
, or equivalent.
Familiarity with multiple operating systems including
Windows
,
Linux
, and
macOS
.
Basic scripting skills in
PowerShell
,
Bash
, or
Python
for automation purposes.
Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, patch management best practices, and compliance standards.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
