About the Role

As our Pastry Chef, you'll lead the pastry section and be responsible for crafting a delightful range of baked goods that will become the signature of our cafe. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the dessert menu from the ground up and bring your creative vision to life.[4]

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare a wide variety of baked goods including cakes, pastries, cookies, pies, and bread following both traditional and modern recipes

- Develop new and exciting desserts to create seasonal menus that engage customers

- Decorate pastries using various icings and toppings to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentations

- Manage the pastry section operations including ingredient sourcing, stock monitoring, and equipment maintenance

- Create custom-made desserts for special occasions based on client specifications[9]

- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards

- Train and supervise junior pastry staff as the team grows

- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure desserts complement the overall menu concept

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a cafe or restaurant setting

- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation

- Creative flair with attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics

- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, or relevant certification.

- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.

- Strong organizational and leadership skills

- Passion for staying updated on food trends and dietary requirements (gluten-free, vegan options, etc.)
